Reinforcing Excellent Safety Performance: Rewards, Recognition & Incentives
Webinar Presentation by Dr. Earl Blair
This session will cover powerful reinforcement strategies for safety performance. Common problems with the use of rewards and incentives will be discussed, as well as guidelines for making reward and recognition programs more effective. Cases and examples will be provided of effective strategies for maximizing individual and team recognition and the use of safety metrics that motivate and reinforce performance.
During this live webinar event, Dr. Earl Blair will discuss:
- How to make distinctions among Recognition, Rewards & Incentives and when to use them.
- The most powerful reinforcement strategies for safety performance.
- Common problems with rewards and incentives.
- Guidelines for making reward and recognition programs most effective.
- Strategies for maximizing individual and team recognition.
- Developing Safety Metrics that motivate and reinforce performance
This virtual class and lunch meeting will take place on Wednesday, August 4th.
Earl Blair is Associate Professor and Program Director for the Graduate Program in Safety Management at Indiana University. Earl recently served as Director for the Heartland Safety & Health Education Center at Indiana University and as Department Chair for Health, Safety, and Environmental Health Sciences at Indiana State University. Dr. Blair is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) with over 30 years experience in safety management.
