Safety Management
New in Fall 2011: Blended Program in the Eastern Panhandle
The College of Engineering and Mineral Resources will deliver the Safety Management program in a blended format with online and on-site classes beginning August 2011. Students will have the best of both academic experiences—the flexibility of online learning, short courses, and valuable face-to-face time for critical laboratory courses.
Students will take 12 courses:
- 6 courses are offered completely online;
- 4 courses are offered face-to-face in a classroom in the Martinsburg area;
- 1 course is mostly online with two on-site (Martinsburg) labs; and
- 1 course can be taken as an internship or an online course.
Each course is seven weeks. Two courses will be offered each term and will run consecutively. The face-to-face courses will be offered on Saturdays. Students will enroll together in a cohort model and should be able to complete
the program in five semesters (approximately 2.5 years).
Financial Aid is available for those who qualify. Interested students can complete the online application by visiting
